ABOUT THE ROLE:
Based in Auckland, the Key Account Manager is a pivotal role within our Merchant Channel, representing the company as the primary point of engagement to support PlaceMakers accounts, nationally. This role is responsible for driving sales, servicing existing relationships, and facilitating operational engagement with the national category team. With monthly regional travel necessary, the key responsibilities will include:
  • Building and maintaining partnerships at a branch level, developing brand awareness and loyalty whilst capturing sales opportunities:
  • Understanding the need to gain the right market share, developing regional sales strategies to grow revenue / share of wallet and create a sustainable competitive advantage
  • Identifying and solving customer challenges; developing and implementing systems and processes to support our position as “Steel Merchant of Choice”
  • Actively monitor and report on commercial performance and Service Level agreements, regularly communicating outcomes with a wide range of key stakeholders

ABOUT YOU: 
As an experienced sales executive, you will be able to work effectively and collaboratively with others, building and maintaining relationships with our key client and external stakeholders to achieve business outcomes. You will ideally possess the following skills:
  • Experience in managing high value key accounts, with a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and strategically managing margins. 
  • Commercial aptitude supported by a solid understanding of the reinforcing and/or building industry
  • A resilient operator who has a positive attitude and a go-getter mentality, driven to become the ideal customer partner
  • Practiced at developing positive industry networks to preserve a high level of market intelligence, thereby maintaining a competitive edge
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to articulate at a senior level
  • Ability to travel around New Zealand
