Description:

Mico Plumbing and Bathrooms is New Zealand’s leading specialist supplier of plumbing and bathroom products to trade, retail and commercial customers with a reputation for quality and customer satisfaction. We are part of Fletcher Building, a diversified global building industry company and the biggest name in plumbing and bathroom supplies.

About the role:

Reporting to the Branch Manager in our Christchurch Branch, this is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday.

A varied and fast-paced role mainly handling Inwards/Outwards Goods but with some driving duties as and when required. Your average day will see you: unloading trucks, receiving and receipting inwards goods, checking goods are in top condition before putting them away, maintaining stock accuracy, organising freight to be on-sent to suppliers, packing the delivery van and making sure the warehouse and inwards goods area is clear and tidy at all times…and all whilst ensuring that we provide exceptional service to our customers and achieve our goal of "Mico Makes it Easy!".

You’ll have the chance to learn our products, and this will give you the chance to progress in the branch, the business, and the organisation. Product or industry knowledge would be a real bonus, but we have heaps of great training materials, if you’re a willing learner!

This is a permanent, full time role, working Monday’s to Friday’s with no weekend work.

About you:

To shine in this role, you’ll bring a customer-focused attitude and strong work ethic to the business and be prepared to work closely and flexibly with the rest of our team. Our Christchurch team works collaboratively and so your strong teamwork skills are essential to this role. The ability to build rapport and relationships should be your strength, and you’ll be IT savvy too.

Manual handling and heavy lifting is a requirement for the role so you’ll need to be physically fit. A full, clean, Class 1 drivers’ licence is also required and whilst forklift experience is not a necessity, it would be a real bonus!

What we can offer you:

In return, we’ll offer you a great hourly rate and opportunities for overtime, excellent training and development and a strong and supportive team environment. As Mico New Zealand is also part of Fletcher Building, there are great chances for career development, plus big-company benefits.

Please note, a full pre-employment medical, including a drug test, will be required and you must currently be legally entitled to live and work permanently in New Zealand.

If you have a great attitude to work, are reliable and enjoy hard work whilst being able to have a joke and a laugh, then we’d love to hear from you!

We are proud of the incredible diversity of people who make up our business! As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we strive to create an inclusive environment for all our employees across our national network of branches throughout New Zealand.
