ABOUT THE ROLE:
This is an exciting time to join our team based in Penrose as a Demand Planning Manager where you will build and drive the Sales & Operations Planning Process at Laminex by developing effective forecasting models based on sales & demand patterns. As well as Implementing frequent solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy, other key duties will include:
  • Data gathering, and forecasting with a demand planning horizon of +12 months which covers effective planning for Phase-In/Phase-Out at product family level or SKU
  • Analyse external and internal factors that contribute to the demand for different products, ensuring that inventory is in the right time, right levels and right locations to meet the business demand
  • Optimisation of logistics, storage, inventory and all other warehousing activities which directly impact fulfilment, shipping, and the customer experience
  • Communication of supply chain risks that will impact DIFOT and Customer requirements and implementation mitigation activities
  • Forecasting the demand of required products using the statistic sales forecast and the feedback from Sales & Marketing for decision making to determine volumes that should be produced/purchased to satisfy all customers’ requirements throughout the year
  • Drive operational efficiency and increase profitability at the same time to achieving customer excellence
  • Support implementation of required cross-functional processes and communication with suppliers to meet Laminex demand while minimising excess inventory and avoiding supply chain disruptions
  • Regular reporting of Demand Forecasted vs. Actual Sales to key stakeholders at weekly, quarterly and YTD levels

ABOUT YOU:
Working closely with the Supply Chain Manager, you will be a positive influencer with an open mind who is able to encourage change and the new implementation of policies/procedures to improve overall business performance. As well as experience working for a complex business in supply chain and operations, you will possess:
  • Exemplary SAP APO experience, and extensive knowledge in Demand Planning, preferably in a lean manufacturing environment
  • Extensive experience managing and implementing Qualitative Forecasting and Quantitative Forecasting methods and modelling at SKU level
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and enhance best practices within the Sales & Operations Planning Process
  • Advanced experience implementing principles of Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, Problem Solving, Value Stream Mapping and Continuous Process Improvement as part of the demand forecasting & supply planning functions
  • Highly developed influencing communication, negotiation and conflict management skills
  • Proficient business dashboard reporting and presentation skills
