Laminex New Zealand forms part of the Building Products division of Fletcher Building.  We are a trusted business partner for decorative surfaces and panel products offering residential and commercial solutions for all interior spaces from benchtops and cabinetry through to structural flooring, wall lining, and commercial joinery.

The Opportunity!

We are in search of an exceptional Regional Sales Support person with enthusiasm and zeal for delivering service excellence to our valued customers. This is a newly created role based in Christchurch, reporting to the Area Sales Manager, and working closely with the wider Customer Service, Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance teams. 

The role

You will play a pivotal role to ensure the effective day-to-day running of the branch enabling the Sales team to focus on growing sales revenue and building long-term customer relationships. 

The key functions of the role will include, and are not limited to: 
  • Manage exceptional customer service and sales support at the branch via phone calls (inbound and outbound calls) and in-person,
  • Carry out administrative duties and processes accurately,
  • Contribute to the daily safety performance at the branch to achieve and maintain zero harm, 
  • Manage a portfolio of selected customers, 
  • Fulfil sales plans to achieve goals and targets by outbound calling and visits, to promote and sell the Company’s products and services to existing and potential customers.

About you

You’ll bring your energy and natural relationship skills to this role, to ensure that you build solid relationships with your allocated customer portfolio. Your customer-centric and solutions-focused attitude towards customers and the business will ensure your success in this role. 

The ability to swiftly pick up on product knowledge and understand technical information is highly regarded as you will be dealing with a range of queries and resolving issues relating to large product offers. To be efficient in this role, you will be good at time management, prioritisation of tasks, and paying great attention to detail in ensuring that all orders and customers are looked after to the highest standards. 

Previous experience in a varied role, covering sales, customer service, administration, and inventory within the Furniture & Joinery, Retail (2IC), or Building Materials industry would be ideal. Familiarity with any sales process ordering system such as Salesforce would be advantageous. However not to worry, comprehensive training will be provided to ensure you integrate seamlessly into the role. A full, clean New Zealand driver’s license is necessary, and experience operating the forklift is desirable, but not essential.
