Description:

Mico New Zealand is proud of its history of serving New Zealand’s communities for the past 76 years. Mico Plumbing and Bathrooms is New Zealand’s leading specialist supplier of plumbing and bathroom products to trade, retail and commercial customers with a reputation for quality and customer satisfaction. We are part of Fletcher Building, a diversified building industry company. With 68 branches and over 500 employees throughout New Zealand, we are the biggest name in plumbing and bathroom supplies.

The role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Mico Design Team in this permanent role, for an experienced Account Manager with a strong Sales background and a good network within the Architecture and Design industry, to develop and foster relationships to secure Mico products into Commercial project plans/specifications and design and build opportunities.

Reporting to the National Commercial Specification Manager who is based in Auckland, you’ll be responsible for assisting Specifiers to assemble Commercial specifications through our customer base made up of Architects, Designers and Developers. You’ll identify, pursue and obtain Commercial specifications through the Architectural channel, then assist our Mico Account Managers in the conversion of these specifications into quotes, orders and sales, through our existing Trade customer base.

About you

You’ll bring your natural relationship skills to this role, to ensure that our customers are provided with the ongoing exceptional levels of service they’ve come to expect from Mico Design. Your customer-centric and solutions-focused attitude to your customers and the business will ensure your success in this fast-paced role.

Your ability to build rapport and relationships will be your strength. A strong existing network within the Architect or Plumbing industry is preferred, and while knowledge of our industry or related industries will be a huge benefit, being an agile learner will serve you well.

A strong personal and work ethic is essential, and you’ll operate according to the importance of giving your word to your customers and making them and their needs your priority. Being able to build positive work relationships with the team and work collaboratively with them, will contribute to your own success as much as to the success of our business.

The flexibility for light travel is a must for this role, to stay in touch with your customers across the South Island excluding the Tasman region. Attending customer and company events is occasionally required, but we’re a business that’s mindful of a healthy work-life balance.

Oh, and don’t leave your sense of humour at home!

What’s in it for you

In return, we’ll offer you a competitive package, excellent opportunities for training and development, and a strong and supportive team environment. As Mico New Zealand is also part of Fletcher Building, there are great opportunities for training and career development, plus company benefits, such as an Employee Education Fund and an exciting and forward-thinking new parental leave policy.

Applications close on Sunday, 2nd October 2022 (unless the role is filled sooner).

Please note:
Vaccination status (whether vaccinated or not) is recorded by the business
A full, clean New Zealand drivers’ licence is required
A full pre-employment medical, including a drug test, will be required
You must currently be legally entitled to live and work permanently in New Zealand, to be considered for this role

We are proud of the incredible diversity of people who make up our business! As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we strive to create an inclusive environment for all our employees across our national network of branches throughout New Zealand.
