Why Join Us?
We think we have a fantastic people culture here at Brian Perry Civil. With plenty of work on the books and a positive future workload, we are expanding and excited about the growth of our company.  We also have a range of employee benefits, including our Employee Education fund, which, if eligible, can assist towards the costs of further study.

The role
We are on the lookout for a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join our Brian Perry Civil team in the National Ground Engineering business.  This role will be based in our Mt Wellington office and will require occasional on-site work across Auckland, Waikato, BOP, Taranaki and the Hawkes Bay. This is a permanent full-time role, but we are open to accommodating a student who wants to do part time hours around their study.

Your responsibilities will include assisting our Quantity Surveyor team with budget and cost control, forecasting, development of subcontractor and supplier agreements, claims management, commercial risk management and reporting. Brian Perry Civil is in a period of growth and expansion, so it is a very exciting time to join the business.

About You
Ideally our candidate will have some experience in the construction industry and will already have progressed through at least 50% of their tertiary study in Quantity Surveying.  However, we also welcome new QS’s that have completed study and we welcome civil engineers and accountants who are looking to switch careers and undertake postgraduate study to become a quantity surveyor.

You should possess strong verbal and written communication skills, good attention to detail, composure to work under pressure, hold exceptional organisation and time management skills, excellent critical thinking skills and an ability to work well in a team. An eagerness to learn and express a positive and customer focused attitude is a must.
