We are currently looking for a qualified Factory Maintenance Electrician to join our Palmerston North based maintenance team. Reporting to the Services Manager, the role is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and monitoring of all electrical systems and equipment on site, to ensure availability of plant and equipment efficiencies are maximised. The work involves both breakdown and preventative maintenance as well as assisting with the installation of new capital projects. 

Other responsibilities include:
Completing CMMS maintenance and inspection work orders daily.
Maintain all electrical services and equipment on site.
Fault finding and maintenance of PLC's, drives and other control circuits.
Test and Tag.
New project Installations.

To be successful in this role you will need:
To hold a relevant industry trade qualification.
Have a New Zealand electrical registration and current practising license.
Demonstrate a role in promoting and improving the Health and Safety systems.
Experience with CMMS systems.
Show knowledge and experience with PLC systems and VSD’s.
Be able to read and follow electrical drawings.
Be results-oriented, with the ability to work on a variety of unconnected projects.
Have excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Be able to attend after-hours callouts, on a roster, to cover the 24/7 operation.

The hours of work will be 7.00am to 3.30pm five days per week. However, we can be a bit flexible with the start time if required. As we are a 24/7 operation we have a callout roster so that after-hours breakdowns can be repaired. The applicant will need to be on call every fourth week and to be on-site during the days on the weekend of the callout week. The week following their call-out week they then have Thursday and Friday off for having worked the previous weekend. This gives them a four-day weekend every fourth week. A 9-hour stand-down period applies to a callout after 10.00pm.
