Counter Sales/Inwards Goods & Driver - Whangamata
- Job Type:Full time
- Category:Customer Service
- Business Group:Mico
- Job Reference:
- Closing Date:11 Dec 2022
Our Mico Whangamata store is a small but busy branch, providing trade solutions to a loyal trade customer base that have supported the branch from the start, including home builders and the local business sector. Mico New Zealand is a leading supplier of plumbing and bathroom products to the trade, retail and commercial sectors, with 68 branches and around 550 employees throughout New Zealand.
You'll be joining the team in our Whangamata branch in a Counter Sales / Inwards Goods role which will include some delivery driving. It would be starting as soon as possible and be fulltime. If you're successful, we would provide additional training including getting you your forklift licence (if you don’t already have one). You’d get product and systems training right from the start, and support from the experienced team around you.
To shine in this role, you’ll bring a customer-focused attitude and strong work ethic to the business and be prepared to work closely and flexibly with the rest of our team. The ability to build rapport and relationships should be your strength, and you’ll be IT savvy, too.
There is manual handling required so you’ll need to be physically fit. A full clean drivers’ licence is required, and a forklift licence would be a bonus (but we can help you get your licence, which will be required).
What we can offer you
In return, we’ll offer you a competitive pay rate, excellent opportunities for training and development, and a strong and supportive team environment. As Mico New Zealand is also part of Fletcher Building, there are big company benefits, such as an Employee Education Fund and an exciting and forward-thinking new parental leave policy.
The career opportunities are exciting! Mico has a culture of career paths and development and career progression, with people in our business staying for up to 40 years and enjoying a varied career. For those coming into the business at an entry-level, we’re able to offer opportunities to start a career in Retail Sales, Warehousing & Distribution and Driving.
Applications close on Sunday, 11th December 2022 (unless the role is filled sooner).
• Vaccination status (whether vaccinated or not) is recorded by the business
• A full, clean New Zealand drivers’ licence is required. Forklift licence preferred
• A full pre-employment medical, including a drug test, will be required
• You must currently be legally entitled to live and work permanently in New Zealand, to be considered for this role
