- Job Type:Full time
- Business Group:Mico
- Job Reference:MCO 30048

Mico Plumbing and Bathrooms is New Zealand’s leading specialist supplier of plumbing and bathroom products to trade, retail and commercial customers with a reputation for quality and customer satisfaction. We are part of Fletcher Building, a diversified global building industry company and the biggest name in plumbing and bathroom supplies.
An exciting and varied role based at our small Blenheim branch where you’ll join an awesome tight-knit team and enjoy the variety and opportunities of working with a fun and experienced crew within a large organisation.
About the role:
Reporting to the Branch Manager, with a dotted line through to the Regional Sales Manager, this is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday 7am-4pm (can be slightly flexible) plus every second Saturday morning from 9am-12pm with paid overtime. You’ll be responsible for managing and servicing the Blenheim area from Havelock/Picton and down to Kaikoura. This pivotal role plays an integral part in working with existing customer accounts, maximising sales opportunities, exceeding monthly targets and building long-term customer relationships.
Day to day you will start on the front counter in the morning, assisting customers during our busy morning rush, and then spend the afternoons on the road maximising sales and seeking out new business in a highly competitive market. Currently the role is 50% counter/50% sales, but we are looking for someone who can grow and drive the business so that the role becomes more sales-weighted in time.
To shine in this role, you’ll bring your natural relationship skills, customer-focused attitude and strong work ethic to the business, ensuring that our customers are provided with the ongoing exceptional levels of service they’ve come to expect from Mico. Your ability to build rapport and relationships will be your strength and you’ll be IT savvy too. Trade industry/plumbing knowledge and/or product experience would be hugely beneficial, but your attitude, personality and keen interest in our industry is what really matters. Oh, and we love someone who is prepared to get stuck in and help out across the branch and who has a good sense of humour and can have a laugh with us and enjoy some fun!
What's in it for you?
In return, we’ll offer you a competitive package including vehicle, excellent opportunities for on-going training and development, as well as a solid career path with career progression and a very strong and supportive team environment. As Mico New Zealand is also part of Fletcher Building, there are great opportunities for training and career development, plus company benefits.
Please note, a full pre-employment medical, including a drug test, will be required and you must currently be legally entitled to live and work permanently in New Zealand.
We are proud of the incredible diversity of people who make up our business! As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we strive to create an inclusive environment for all our employees across our national network of branches throughout New Zealand.
