Inventory Controller & Counter Sales – Mico Wairau Park
• Great opportunity to build your career in the Trade Retail industry
• If you’re good with numbers this is an opportunity to learn Inventory Control
• Permanent, fulltime role based at our Wairau Park Branch; Mondays to Fridays only
Our Mico Wairau Park store is a small but busy branch, providing trade solutions to a loyal trade customer base, including home builders and the local business sector. We have recently relocated to new premises and upgraded the store.
Mico New Zealand is a leading supplier of plumbing and bathroom products to the trade, retail and commercial sectors, with 69 branches and around 550 employees throughout New Zealand.
Reporting to the Branch Manager, you'll be joining the team in our Wairau Park branch in an Inventory Controller / Counter Sales role which may include some delivery driving. The nature of a small team is that you’ll learn a bit of everything, which is a great way to progress. The role would be starting as soon as possible and be fulltime. If you're successful, we would provide additional training including teaching you all you need to know about Inventory Control (if you don’t have previous experience) and getting you your forklift licence (if you don’t already have one). You’d get product and systems training right from the start, and support from the experienced team around you.
This is a permanent, fulltime role, working Mondays to Fridays only.
To shine in this role, you’ll bring a customer-focused attitude and strong work ethic to the business and be prepared to work closely and flexibly with the rest of our team. The ability to build rapport and relationships and work collaboratively with your teammates should be your strength, and you’ll be great with numbers and IT savvy, too. Experience in a sales or retail environment would stand you in good stead for this role, but your attitude and an interest in our industry is what matters.
While we would prefer you to have your full licence, a restricted is fine as long as you are an experienced and confident driver.
What we can offer you
In return, we’ll offer you a competitive package, excellent opportunities for training and development, and a strong and supportive team environment. As Mico New Zealand is also part of Fletcher Building, there are great opportunities for training and career development, plus company benefits, such as an Employee Education Fund and an exciting and forward-thinking new parental leave policy.
The career opportunities are exciting! Mico has a culture of career paths and development and career progression, with people in our business staying for up to 40 years and enjoying a varied career. For those coming into the business at an entry-level, we’re able to offer opportunities to start a career in Retail Sales, Warehousing & Distribution and Driving.
Applications close on Monday, 6th February 2023 (unless the role is filled sooner).
• Vaccination status (whether vaccinated or not) is recorded by the business
• A full pre-employment medical, including a drug test, will be required
• You must currently be legally entitled to live and work permanently in New Zealand, to be considered for this role
We are proud of the incredible diversity of people who make up our business! As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we strive to create an inclusive environment for all our employees across our national network of branches throughout New Zealand.
