Key focus & responsibilities
In this pivotal role, you will drive increased sales of Stramit products (and associated brands) through the development of relationships with engineers, architects and builders at the specification stage of projects. The BDM will provide product technical support in the areas of design, specification, documentation, installation and issue resolution and contribute to the product development process through idea generation and stage gate processes.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Specification – Contribute to the sales pipeline through specification of key projects, handing over to sales teams and supporting through this process. Drive increased awareness of Stramit products through CPD presentations, attending and coordinating industry events. 
  • Customer Management – Ensure queries and sales leads are responded to in a timely manner. Execute an effective customer call cycle.
  • Customer Retention and New Acquisition – Establish strong relationships with engineers and architects and pursue new customer acquisition.
  • Quotations – Prepared in adherence to pricing strategies and using qualified data as required
What we need you to bring to our team
This is an exciting opportunity for a Business Development hero.  You will be a great team player, with a problem solving attitude.  You have a commercial mindset and a keen eye for detail.  You are not afraid to roll your sleeves up to get the job done.  You enjoy making a positive contribution and are a continuous learner.  You are an excellent communicator and thrive on building connections internally and externally.  You can pick up new systems easily and drive key projects around digital process enhancements.

We are on the lookout for;
  • Demonstrated engagement with engineers, architects and specifiers
  • Construction trade, or tertiary qualifications in engineering
  • Previous experience in fast-paced sales environment
  • Familiar with industry lead generation tools such as BCI, Cordell etc
  • Experience in managing own administrative tasks
  • CRM experience (Salesforce or similar)
