Counter Sales & Inwards Goods/Driver – Mico Albany
• Exciting opportunity to progress your career in the Trade Retail industry
• Full Class 1 or 2 manual licence required; physical role with forklift training provided
• Permanent, fulltime role at our busy commercial Albany Branch; paid overtime
Our Mico Albany store is a small but busy branch, boasting a beautiful showroom while also providing trade solutions to a large and loyal trade customer base, residential solutions to home builders and commercial solutions to the local business sector.
Mico New Zealand is a leading supplier of plumbing and bathroom products to the trade, retail and commercial sectors, with 69 branches and around 550 employees throughout New Zealand.
Reporting to the Branch Manager, this is a varied role that will see you driving deliveries out to businesses, worksites and customers around the area, working in the warehouse, receiving and sorting incoming deliveries, picking/packing and dispatching orders for delivery, and working behind the Trade Counter, ensuring that your customers, who are made up of tradies, businesses and home-owners, are greeted with a cheerful smile and exceptional service. You’ll be providing a great customer experience, wherever you go!
You’ll have the chance to learn our products, and this will give you the chance to progress in the branch, the business, and the organisation. Product or industry knowledge would be a real bonus, but we have heaps of great training materials, if you’re a willing learner!
This is a permanent, fulltime role Mondays to Saturdays plus rostered Saturday mornings.
To shine in this role, you’ll bring a customer-focused attitude and strong work ethic to the business and be prepared to work closely and flexibly with the rest of our team. The ability to build rapport and relationships should be your strength, and you’ll be IT savvy, too.
There is manual handling required so you’ll need to be physically fit. A full class 1 drivers’ licence is required (class 2 would be great) with the ability to drive a manual vehicle, and a forklift licence would be a bonus.
What we can offer you
In return, we’ll offer you a competitive package, excellent opportunities for training and development, and a strong and supportive team environment. As Mico New Zealand is also part of Fletcher Building, there are great opportunities for training and career development, plus company benefits, such as an Employee Education Fund and an exciting and forward-thinking new parental leave policy.
Applications close on Sunday, 2nd April 2023 (unless the role is filled sooner).
• Vaccination status (whether vaccinated or not) is recorded by the business
• A full New Zealand drivers’ licence is required; ability to drive manual. Forklift licence preferred
• A full pre-employment medical, including a drug test, will be required
• You must currently be legally entitled to live and work permanently in New Zealand, to be considered for this role
We are proud of the incredible diversity of people who make up our business! As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we strive to create an inclusive environment for all our employees across our national network of branches throughout New Zealand.
