Fletcher Steel is seeking a Capital Works Project Engineer to join our team based in Auckland. As our new Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing projects related to the relocation to new facilities, equipment selection and installation, and process improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage and oversee capital works projects from conception to completion
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans
- Monitor project progress and report on project status to stakeholders
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure timely completion of project milestones
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including design drawings, project plans, and project schedules
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for process improvements and implement solutions
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and contractors
We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 3 - 4 years of experience in project management, preferably in capital works projects in the manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques
- Experience working with contractors and suppliers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software
