Counter Sales & Inwards Goods/Driver – Mico Cook Street
• Exciting opportunity to build your career in the Trade Retail industry
• Join a great team in a successful branch; good benefits and career opportunities
• Permanent, fulltime role at our Cook Street Branch in Auckland CBD; rostered Saturday mornings
Our Mico Cook Street store is a well-established and successful branch, boasting a beautiful showroom whilst providing trade solutions to a loyal trade customer base that have supported the branch from the start, including home builders and the local business sector.
Mico New Zealand is a leading supplier of plumbing and bathroom products to the trade, retail and commercial sectors, with 69 branches and around 550 employees throughout New Zealand.
The role
You'll be joining the awesome team in our Cook Street branch in a Counter Sales / Inwards Goods role which will include some delivery driving. It would be starting as soon as possible and be fulltime. If you're successful, we would provide additional training including getting you your forklift licence (if you don’t already have one). You’d get product and systems training right from the start, and support from the experienced team around you.
About you
To shine in this role, you’ll bring a customer-focused attitude and strong work ethic to the business and be prepared to work closely and flexibly with the rest of our team. The ability to build rapport and relationships should be your strength, and you’ll be IT savvy, too.
There is manual handling required so you’ll need to be physically fit. A full clean drivers’ licence is required, and a forklift licence would be a bonus (but we can help you get your licence, which will be required).
What we can offer you
In return, we’ll offer you a competitive pay rate, excellent opportunities for training and development, and a strong and supportive team environment. As Mico New Zealand is also part of Fletcher Building, there are big company benefits, such as an Employee Education Fund and an exciting and forward-thinking new parental leave policy.
The career opportunities are exciting! Mico has a culture of career paths and development and career progression, with people in our business staying for up to 40 years and enjoying a varied career. For those coming into the business at an entry-level, we’re able to offer opportunities to start a career in Retail Sales, Warehousing & Distribution and Driving.
Applications close on Tuesday, 11th April 2023 (unless the role is filled sooner).
Please note:
• A New Zealand drivers’ licence is required. Forklift licence preferred
• A full pre-employment medical, including a drug test, will be required
• You must currently be legally entitled to live and work permanently in New Zealand, to be considered for this role
We are proud of the incredible diversity of people who make up our business! As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we strive to create an inclusive environment for all our employees across our national network of branches throughout New Zealand.
