The role
The People and Performance Manager is a Penrose based role with a brand-new purpose-built manufacturing site opening in the next few months in Tauranga replacing our Auckland plant. We also have a Manufacturing site in Christchurch and numerous Distribution centres in key locations throughout the North and South Islands. This leadership role will appeal to a seasoned HR professional looking to join our Senior Leadership Team and provide high quality end to end HR support to the General Manager and the wider team. Our business has a strong service reputation and is famous for product quality and building systems innovation.
The role will implement strategic people plans to ensure we maintain a market leading position and support c. 320 team members across New Zealand. You will champion a safety culture and demonstrate zero harm, and provide key support to enhance a winning culture that delivers the capabilities and attitudes across the business as well as offering career development and growth opportunities for our people.
This is an all-encompassing leadership role, where you will lead a small People and Performance team and collaborate with a divisional P&P team that provides key support in all operational HR areas including employee engagement, culture and talent, performance and capability development and continue to improve Inclusion and diversity across our business. To enable that you will ideally have at least 10 years’ experience in generalist HR and leadership with particular skills in learning and development, employee relations, Diversity and Inclusion and a sound understanding of health and safety.
About you:
You will be a proven and inspirational leader with extensive Human Resource experience ideally within time sensitive service industries or similar, with a high level of customer focus and continuous improvement on a daily basis. Ideally you will have a degree in Human Resource management or a related field.
Naturally a team player, your collaborative approach will allow you to quickly gain the confidence of the Senior Leadership team and the wider business, and you will not be afraid to be hands on when required. You will have high level of commercial nous, and pragmatic approach and an ability to drive value and change initiatives that support operational excellence landscape and be curious about innovation and growth.
Candidates for this role must have sound analytical and critical thinking skills coupled with exceptional leadership and people management capabilities, with a proven track record of supporting a business with numerous teams located across New Zealand.
Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal, with superior influencing and relationship development skills and the ability to bring strong EQ and adapt your style to variable audiences will ensure you standout.
