The Haughton Pipeline project is a major piece of infrastructure for Townsville and will be constructed over an 18-month period. Iplex is supplying GRP pipe and fittings to Townsville City Council (TCC) who will free issue to the Contractors installing the pipe.

About the role

We, at Iplex, are excited to be recruiting for Stage 2 of the Haughton Pipeline Project, a great way to support the community and offer more roles to the Townsville people.  We are looking for an experienced Site Project Officer, this role will involve you collecting your vehicle from our Bohle site each day and driving to one of three locations.  You will work as part of our National Projects Team to oversee and manage a range of specific activities involved with the delivery (in Townsville only) and installation of the pipe and fittings.

Some of the Key Responsibilities would be
  • Being the first point of contact for Iplex for all site-related issues.
  • The Inspection of the pipe 
  • Coordination of deliveries to and on-site 
  • Facilitating smooth custody transfer of materials to TCC 
  • Overseeing installation
  • Including conducting random inspections & reporting
Skills & Experience
  • Track record in a site-based material handling/quality inspection role.
  • Certification as a QA Inspector is desirable
  • Experience in interpreting and understanding drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge in handling plastics and metals pipe and fittings systems
  • Excellent Customer interaction skills & ability to build relationships
  • Understand how to plan & organise tasks across logistics & construction 
  • Ability to establish systems & processes for product inspection & management
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent attention to detail with clear communication skills
  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Project/Visio). 
  • Experience with JD Edwards would be advantageous.
