The opportunity:
Our manufacturing facility in Penrose produces the iconic Pink®Batts® Glasswool insulation, it is a 24/7 production plant where we pride ourselves on our Safety, efficiency and continuous improvement. We believe that by bringing together our diverse skills and experiences, together we can create better results than what we ever expected. By 2026 we will have built a world class new factory which will produce the best and most environmentally friendly Glasswool product in the world.
This role is critical to the continued success of the site as well as involvement in this project from creation to implementation. Other responsibilities will include:
- Providing strong people leadership as you will be responsible for coaching/mentoring 6 direct and 28 indirect reports across 4 shifts
- Implementing a true focus towards H&S initiatives, ensuring compliance, safe work practices and effective toolbox meetings
- Daily analysis of production efficiency, ensuring costs are managed and a high-quality output is consistent
- Troubleshooting day to day activities, process and equipment improvements
- Ensuring manufacturing processes comply with environmental regulatory requirements and carrying out environmental hazard assessments
About you:
As a Production Manager, you will be mechanically minded with an engineering focus, while at the same time play a key role in coaching and upskilling staff, meeting service expectations and safely meeting all production requirements. You will ideally possess the following skills:
- Experience in manufacturing preferably in continuous 24/7 production, with knowledge of automated systems
- Ability to build solid relationships with numerous stakeholders and proven experience leading, engaging and motivating a team
- Strengths in change management, attention to detail and analytical ability
- A technical/mechanical aptitude with an understanding of manufacturing equipment
