About Us
If we could have it our way, people would talk a little less about housing and a lot more about living. That's because we believe the Kiwi dream is bigger than a quarter acre. It’s about living the life you want. So, we create neighbourhoods designed to nurture living in all its beauty, richness and variety.
Why Join Us?
We’re a high performing business and are proud to say that we have a highly engaged and successful team. We have a fantastic people culture and encourage everyone to bring their full and genuine selves to work. Our workplaces are enriched by many different nationalities, languages, religions, customs, and lifestyles. We’re proud of this diversity and understand that it brings a richer and broader perspective to how we operate by helping us connect better with our people and with our customer base.
The Role
This is a permanent position based at our Canterbury Branch and reporting to our National HSE Manager. You’ll spend part of your time in the office and the rest out on site across our various housing developments such as our One Central urban community and our master-planned residential community in Faringdon, Rolleston. You will work closely with our own construction team as well as our subcontractors and skilled trades people.
A key focus of this role will be to continually develop, improve and facilitate a strong safety culture and to ensure the provision of a safe working environment for employees and subcontractors. This is a challenging role and is ideally suited to those who are passionate about health and safety and keen to be an instrumental part of setting the benchmark across the construction sector.
About You
We are interested to talk with candidates who can offer a proven EHS track record, ideally within the construction or building industries. You will be experienced implementing HSE procedures, gaining buy in and therefore compliance, followed by monitoring, auditing, accident & incident investigation and reporting.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent administrative and interpersonal skills and the ability to positively increase H&S performance by influencing, supporting and coaching. The successful candidate will be able to modify and adapt to a wide range of people from senior managers to supervisors, skilled trades people and subcontractors. It goes without saying that your communication skills will be a key strength.
Benefits
At Fletcher Living you will enjoy the benefits and recognition of working for a well-respected business unit within the Fletcher Building Group. Along with providing a competitive salary this role will see you working with a high performing team with a clear vision and goals. You will be encouraged to share ideas and will have the opportunity to build relationships with the Construction team on site.
Application Process
Applications should be made by submitting a CV and cover letter outlining your interest, motivation and what you would bring to this role by way of background, experience and fit for the role and our team. Please apply online.
We welcome your individuality. We are enriched by so many nationalities, languages, religions, customs, and lifestyles. We are proud of our diversity and see it as one of the things that make us stronger.
