Description:
Mico New Zealand is proud of its history of serving New Zealand’s communities for the past 76 years. Mico Plumbing and Bathrooms is New Zealand’s leading specialist supplier of plumbing and bathroom products to trade, retail and commercial customers with a reputation for quality and customer satisfaction. We are part of Fletcher Building, a diversified building industry company. With 69 branches and around 550 employees throughout New Zealand, we are the biggest name in plumbing and bathroom supplies.
The role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Mico Sales Team in this role. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing and servicing the territory from Pukekohe to Manukau. You’ll work with existing customer accounts building long term relationships and maximising sales, whilst seeking out new business in a highly competitive market.
We’re looking for the right person, to develop and foster relationships to secure Mico products into businesses in the plumbing and building sector. You’ll be based out of our Pukekohe branch but collaborate and build relationships with our Takanini and Manukau branch teams and customers, too.
About you
Your prior sales track record is the starting point to securing this role, but we’re also looking for someone with the right attitude. You’ll bring your natural relationship skills to the role, to ensure that our customers are provided with the ongoing exceptional levels of service they’ve come to expect from Mico. Your customer-centric and solutions-focused attitude to your customers and the business will ensure your success in this fast-paced role. You’ll be self-motivated, operate pre-emptively, have strong time management skills and be IT savvy.
Your ability to build rapport and relationships will be your strength, as you grow your network within the trade sector. Your existing network within the building industry would be beneficial, but while knowledge of our industry or related industries will be a huge benefit, being an agile learner will serve you well. We can teach you our products, as long as you’ve got the right attitude!
A strong personal and work ethic is essential, and you’ll operate according to the importance of giving your word to your customers and making them and their needs your priority. Being able to build positive work relationships with the rest of your team and the teams in the branches, and work collaboratively with them, will contribute to your own success as much as to the success of our business.
The flexibility for travel is a must for this role, to stay in touch with your customers. Attending customer and company events is occasionally required, but we’re a business that’s mindful of a healthy work-life balance.
What’s in it for you
In return, we’ll offer you a competitive package including vehicle, excellent opportunities for training and development, and a very strong and supportive team environment. As Mico New Zealand is also part of Fletcher Building, there are great opportunities for training and career development, plus company benefits, such as an Employee Education Fund and an exciting and forward-thinking new parental leave policy.
Applications close on Sunday, 11th June 2023 (unless the role is filled sooner).
Please note:
• A full, clean New Zealand drivers’ licence is required
• A full pre-employment medical, including a drug test, will be required
• You must currently be legally entitled to live and work permanently in New Zealand, to be considered for this role
We are proud of the incredible diversity of people who make up our business! As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we strive to create an inclusive environment for all our employees across our national network of branches throughout New Zealand.
