Showroom Consultant (part time) – Mico Whitianga

Our Mico Whitianga store is a small but busy branch, with a beautiful showroom and also providing trade solutions to a loyal trade customer base, including home builders and the local business sector. We have recently relocated to the new premises and upgraded the store, and it’s looking great!
Mico New Zealand is a top supplier in the industry of plumbing and bathroom products to the trade, retail and commercial sectors, with 69 branches and around 550 employees throughout New Zealand.

The role

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you’ll play an integral role within our showroom where you will offer product support and design solutions for our stunning front-of-wall bathroom products. You will be our customers’ first point of contact, so you’ll need to ensure that your customers, who are made up of homeowners, businesses and some tradies are greeted with a cheerful smile and exceptional service. 

You will be responsible for maximizing bathroom sales as well as promoting exclusive product offers whilst keeping up to date with the latest plumbing/bathroom trends and inspiring our customers with a winning in-store experience. You’ll have the delightful opportunity to make your customers’ dream bathrooms come to life!

While most of your role will be in the Showroom, the nature of working in a small team means you may also be needed to assist filling in here or there on the odd occasion, such as with Counter Sales. You’ll have the chance to learn our products, and this will give you the chance to progress in the branch, the business and the organisation. 

This is a permanent, part time role, working Wednesdays to Fridays 8.30am-5pm, with rostered Saturday mornings (usually one-in-three) 9am-12pm.

About you

To shine in this role, you’ll bring energy, a bubbly, customer-focused attitude and a positive work ethic to the business and be prepared to muck in and work collaboratively with the rest of our team. The ability to build rapport and relationships should be your strength and you’ll be IT savvy too. Experience in sales or a retail environment would stand you in good stead for this role, but your attitude and an interest in our industry is what really matters. You’ll enjoy bringing delight to your customers as you make their dream bathrooms come alive!
