Mico New Zealand has a host of busy commercial branches, providing trade solutions to a loyal trade customer base, including home builders and the local business sector. We are a leading supplier of plumbing and bathroom products to the trade, retail and commercial sectors, with 69 branches and around 550 employees throughout New Zealand.
About the role:
As a key member of our South Island Sales team you will be based in the Nelson area, covering the Nelson & Motueka branches.
The current incumbent has scored a new role within the Company and is moving on, so this role replaces them and will take over an existing client base. However, there is also an expectation for further growth, so you will need to be both ‘hunter’ and ‘farmer’. Your key areas of responsibility will be: looking after our 50+ customer base throughout the area; developing and securing new business opportunities; building partnerships and customer relationships with existing clients; looking for new and diverse market segments in which to grow; promoting our exclusive product range and devising a strategic growth plan for the area focusing on our fabulous local tradies (including plumbers, drain-layers, gas-fitters and builders) to maximise profitability. There is lots of flexibility in the role and you will work closely with our Branch Managers around the region.
To really understand and relate to our customers, a trade background or plumbing knowledge would be advantageous however is not absolutely essential. To be successful in this role you will have a proven sales success with a background in sales development/sales disciplines and can demonstrate strategic planning and solid negotiation skills.
A fantastic ‘can do’ attitude, great aptitude and a positive out-going personality are the key skills we are searching for. Whilst we’d love you to have proven experience in working with tradies, being a team player and having great customer service/relationship skills is much more important to us. If you have the right attitude, are willing and eager to learn and grow, then we can teach you the rest!
