Reporting to the Christchurch Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for providing daily leadership and direction to the production operations of the Board Plant and Plaster Mill and driving the achievement of all our production KPI’s.
About the role
The focus of the Production Manager is developing a culture of employee engagement, safety first through zero harm, as well as continuous improvement of working conditions and product throughout the operations, whilst implementing and maintaining the manufacturing excellence programme. Ensuring the delivery of quality products manufactured to plan, on time and within costs is important, along with accurate reporting of targets.
This is a key role where you will need to provide strong people leadership and management focus as you will be responsible for a 24-hour, 7-day shift operation. Responsibilities include: coaching staff, focusing on safety, ensuring high quality output, leading change, team performance and communication.
This role requires energy and a proven ability to lead a team and drive a high-performance culture. You will be technically minded and experienced with a passion for engaging teams and managing production operations, ideally in a medium to large sized manufacturing environment. A proven track record in constantly delivering required output and performance improvement is essential. You will also need to have a high degree of technical know-how and strong problem-solving skills.
