Description

The role: 

This role offers a great blend of sales and account management. As a National Key Account Manager, you’ll play an integral part in developing strategic partnerships, servicing large group home builders and other national customers in creating real value in the businesses. This role is based in our Penrose National Office in Auckland reporting into the Head of Sales and joining a supportive and diverse team of 4 National Account Managers. You will be naturally driven to identify new opportunities for business growth and offer customer solutions that exceed expectations ensuring PlaceMakers are, and remain, the preferred supplier.

You will be responsible for: 
  • Optimising and managing existing trading relationships with existing National Account customers. 
  • Developing and implementing better administration processes and systems which optimise the performance of National Offices management of key accounts.
  • Assisting the National Sales Manager to develop and implement systems which create and sustain a high-performance sales culture.
  • Manage the National Sales Analyst to provide timely and high-quality reporting of key account data to the business.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer partnership.

Skills and experience: 
With a proven account management background and a real passion for our industry you will be self-driven, have exceptional negotiation skills and be an impressive presenter of proposals. Due to the nature of this role, you will be a natural relationship builder that can communicate at all levels and genuinely enjoys people interaction and travelling as there will be a requirement for national and some international travel to meet customer requirements and company objectives. 

To really understand our customers and to be successful in this role you will need to also demonstrate the following -  
  • A proven track record of business development, account management and retention
  • You’re decisive and have the ability to introduce innovative ideas and strategies around customer value 
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills with leadership qualities 
  • Be self-motivated, results driven, and customer focused
  • Have a sound understanding of the B2B sales process along with the ability to influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders 
  • Strong technical/building products knowledge
