Description

Who We Are

We’re one of Australia’s biggest and most trusted names in sheds and patios. We’re big enough to have a national network of local shed experts, plus a manufacturing and distribution network that serves the nation, as part of the Stramit family.

We’re also part of one of Australia’s biggest building industry families – Fletcher Building Australia – alongside TradeLink, Oliveri, Laminex and more.

But we’re also small enough to know what our customers want as people – with us, we know that what works for one person, won’t for another.

The Role

We are seeking a Structural Engineer for a 12-month fixed-term project-based role, based in Erskine Park.

As a Structural Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in structural engineering to critically engage in all facets of design projects, driving continual improvement and industry leadership. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the competency of the engineering team and liaising directly with external parties when necessary. This role offers an opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation, ensuring our projects not only meet but exceed industry standards.

Please note, due to company closure over the holiday break, we will begin to review applications at the commencement of the new year.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop innovative cold-formed steel components and systems for a diverse range of light-gauge steel buildings, including sheds, carports, awnings, and patios.
  • Maintain and support Business as Usual (BAU) activities, including analysis and design tasks.
  • Update existing design solutions to ensure they comply with the latest design standards.
  • Develop, test, deploy, and document robust and scalable solutions to continuously improve design software.
  • Implement cutting-edge technologies to enhance the capabilities and technical offerings of our software.

What we need from you:
  • Deep knowledge and experience in the methodology and routine design of cold-form lightweight structures.
  • Degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Familiarity with industrial commercial packages such as Space Gass, AutoCAD, Revit, and Tekla.
  • Experience in coding with VB .NET, Python, and R.
  • Proven track record in project management methodology and execution.
  • Highly disciplined in documentation and version control practices.

What we offer
  • Supportive and close-knit team of highly experienced individuals
  • Hybrid workplace: 3 dedicated onsite workdays with flexibility
  • Amazing career development, training, and progression opportunities
  • A Perkbox account – giving you 24/7 access to thousands of perks, benefits, discounts, wellbeing tools and loads more!
  • Strong Inclusion and diversity commitment to our team members including Gender affirmation leave (10 days), and LGBTQ+ Rainbow Tick accreditation.
