Part of the Fletcher Building Group, Laminex New Zealand is a diverse business incorporating Manufacturing, Distribution and Sales. With manufacturing sites in Hamilton and Taupo, Distribution Centres in Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland, a high performing Customer Service Team in Auckland and 9 Sales/Customer Service Branches nationwide, we manufacture and distribute Laminex New Zealand products such as Meltica, Laminex and particleboard as well as buy in and on sell products sourced from 3rd parties.

About the opportunity
We currently have an exciting and diverse opportunity at our Taupo site for an experienced Health and Safety professional.

This is a multiple role with two distinct areas of responsibility, plus the overseeing of the site Despatch Operation.

The key focus of the role is to lead Laminex NZ’s Taupo HSE programmes by promoting strong leadership and building effective processes and Teams to achieve zero harm, and ensure that safety is at the forefront of everything we do.

In addition to you EHS responsibilities, you will be tasked with ensuring sustainable  supply of NZ based wood fibre needs at lowest total system cost, whilst maintaining agreed IFOTIS.
This is a hands-on role with the Manager required to handle all the day-to-day communication and administration, compiling of reports etc 

About You
We’re keen to speak to leaders with demonstrated understanding of process manufacturing operations and/or the forestry industry. You’ll have strong negotiation skills and have a good understanding of supply chain principles.

You will be an expert in the EHS field, with a consultative approach enabling safety to be everyone’s business.
