The Higgins team in Tamaki Makaurau have an exciting opportunity for a Sealing Manager to join the business. Reporting to the Region Manager you will lead the successful bidding and delivery of sealing projects across the Auckland region for Higgins.  

This is a senior role with massive potential for growth. You will have strong technical knowledge of the chipseal industry and be passionate about leading people. This role gives you the opportunity to shape our growing footprint within the region.

What you will bring to the role: 
  • Strong technical knowledge is essential, you will have experience in the surfacing industry, with in-depth knowledge of aggregates, surfacing (hot mix and chip-sealing) with a technical understanding of these materials and their application.
  • Ability to manage all aspects of financial performance for the division including cost management, monthly reporting, and analysis (results / profit & loss), knowledge of JDE is beneficial but training can be provided.
  • Ideally you will have prior people management experience, ideally leading a team or division in the construction or wider relevant industries. We can support you develop your people management experience if required. 
  • Strong time management is essential, you will be solutions focused and driven to meet deadlines and achieve programmed goals safely. 
  • Prior experience bidding, tendering, and winning work, ideally surfacing projects.
  • Experience planning, resourcing, and managing daily operations to effectively deliver workload, including Optimisation of resources including people, materials & plant
  • Strong focus on health and safety, you will have a strong safety mindset. 
  • Business Development capabilities to support future growth of the division. 
  • Ideally you will have a tertiary qualification in Engineering.
