DTS Despatcher – The Gate Onehunga, Auckland

The Role
We are on the lookout for a Site Delivery Despatcher to join our team based on our Onehunga site. Working closely with our DTS Team, you will be responsible for controlling and coordinating the daily despatch processes and act as a point of contact for cartage contractors and the call centre to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of plasterboard to building sites in the region. Strong administration and co-ordination skills is a requirement in this role as you will be responsible for;

  • Organising, planning and tracking deliveries
  • Administration of all paperwork and keeping up to date notes in JDE
  • Issue resolution
  • Co-ordination of jobs, trucks, resource and equipment 
  • Providing updates to both Internal and External customers
  • Driving HSE within the Team and Business

This is a Monday to Friday role, 45 hr week. Office is open between 5am and 6pm, hence some flexibility is required in working hours which will be confirmed at interview.

About You
The successful applicant will be organised, disciplined, have good planning skills and be capable of dealing with a range of complexities in what can be a demanding environment. Sound geographic knowledge of Auckland suburbs and experience in transport and distribution administration are key to being successful in this role, and an understanding of the building industry would be advantageous. Good computer skills, capable with spreadsheets and the ability to learn our core system. If you have JDE experience even better!

You need to be a team player, working with a range of other teams from order placement through to end delivery, where many of your decisions will impact others. Internal and external customer focus is paramount and an essential component of the job.
