About the role

The NZ Payroll team have a vacancy for an Assistant Payroll Lead - Distribution to join the team and ensure the accurate and timely processing of all Payroll related tasks in accordance with company procedures and Business Unit requirements.

The Assistant Payroll Lead is also required to ensure that all contractual terms and conditions, service level agreements, company policy and relevant employment legislation are adhered to. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day payroll activities and providing leadership and support to the payroll processing team, providing legislative and system (Chris21) guidance and direction, advising on payroll related projects to Fletcher Building Business Units and providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

The role supports the Payroll Team Leaders in developing the payroll service delivery strategy.

About you

You will have many years of Payroll experience with complex collective employments, high volumes, and complex business environments. Ideally you will be NZPPA Certified. You will have the ability to perform off system payroll calculations to ensure system configuration delivers expected outcomes. You need solid experienced in interpreting CEAs and IEAs to support the set up and maintenance of pay rules in time and attendance systems and to be experienced in managing and maintaining compliance and controls across the end-to-end payroll process.
