We’re looking for a strategic and commercially astute leader to join our team as Group Commercial Manager. This is a pivotal role providing commercial governance and support across the Higgins’ business in New Zealand and the South Pacific.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Reporting to Head of Commercial as part of our Group Commercial Team.
  • Participating in tender reviews to ensure contract risk profiles are understood and appropriate mitigations are put in place.
  • Undertaking project reviews to ensure robust procurement, cost control, reporting and change management practices are applied.
  • Leading commercial workstreams on high value complex tender submissions.
  • Championing health and safety, and commercial business practices.
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.

What you’ll bring:
  • 10+ years’ experience in civil construction, with strong exposure to NZS forms of contract, subcontractor procurement, change management and cost to complete practices.
  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Legal or related discipline.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive commercial outcomes.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to travel.
