Description

Join Our Team as a Wellbeing Manager on the Te Awa Kairangi Project!

Are you ready to help shape a workplace where people feel genuinely supported, connected, and empowered? Fletcher Construction is seeking a caring and collaborative Wellbeing Manager to join the Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Te Awa Kairangi) Alliance.

About the Role

In this role you'll lead the development and delivery of a holistic wellbeing programme that supports our people across both office and construction environments. This role is central to shaping a positive workplace culture, aligned with the Te Whare Tapa Whā wellbeing model and our Alliance Charter values. You’ll collaborate with leaders, teams, and external partners to champion mental health, drive strategic initiatives, and foster a thriving, resilient workforce.

  • Lead the design and implementation of an annual wellbeing programme aligned with Te Whare Tapa Whā.
  • Advocate for wellbeing across all levels of the alliance, including site and office teams.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver impactful wellbeing initiatives.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on wellbeing activities and outcomes.
  • Facilitate training and engagement to promote a culture of health, safety, and support.
  • Manage wellbeing-related budgets and service providers effectively.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Qualification in Mental Health First Aid, counselling, social work, H&S, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing wellbeing strategies, programmes, and policies.
  • Strong communication skills and empathy to connect with diverse teams.
  • Passion for promoting mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.
  • High self-awareness and ability to lead with authenticity and care.
  • Experience working within health, safety, and wellbeing environments.

About Te Awa Kairangi

Te Awa Kairangi Alliance is delivering transport, walking and cycling improvements to the SH2 Melling interchange and rail station, as part of a wider flood protection and city revitalisation programme. Fletcher Construction is working with Alliance partners AECOM, NZTA, Taranaki Whānui and Ngāti Toa Rangatira to deliver this transformative project. Design is underway and construction is due to commence in late 2025.

About Us

We pride ourselves on safely delivering a wide variety of construction and infrastructure projects for the people of New Zealand and the South Pacific. But our power is not in what we do, it’s in who we are. We are a team of 3,700 people working under three brands: Fletcher Construction, Higgins, and Brian Perry Civil. We may be a big team, but we haven’t lost sight of what really matters: looking after our people.

We recognise that treating our people well is only partially about what happens during work hours. It’s also about the impact we have outside of work hours too. That’s why we have incredible learning and development opportunities for staff and their families, industry-leading parental leave, support systems and generous corporate discounts.
