Description

Fletcher Higgins Fiji is seeking an experienced senior quantity surveyor to work as part of the commercial team on a large hotel refurbishment project in Fiji. The position requires a strong background in vertical construction and technical skills to match the day to day demands of a complex project. 

You'll be working alongside the project team, client, consultants and other stakeholders and will be supporting the commercial manager to achieve accurate and on time commercial delivery.

We are looking for someone who is passionate quantity surveying, has a sound commercial knowledge, and can contribute to the overall project success. 

Applicants must currently reside in Fiji or be willing to relocate for the role.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Pre-Construction - Issuing and reviewing RFT’s for subcontractor packages
  • Procurement - Prepare subcontractor and supplier agreements for issue and execution
  • Subcontractor Management – processing of payments, issuing certificates, value engineering, forecasting and negotiation of final accounts.
  • Change Management – Measuring, quantifying and valuing variations for submission to the Client. Valuing and issuing variations to Subcontractors & Suppliers ensuring compliance with head contract and subcontract terms.
  • Contract Administration – Assist in the preparation of notices and contractual documentation for review.
  • Revenue Management – Manage the client progress claim process to maximise cashflow and certified values.
  • Health & safety – actively participate in onsite training, tool box meetings, and record any health and safety observations using systems and data management tools.
What you’ll bring:
  • Proven experience in the construction industry, including at least 2 years in large complex projects or business units. 
  • Proven technical ability in all aspects of quantity surveying.
  • A solid understanding of contract administration, commercial risk management, cost control, and dispute resolution.
  • Demonstrable experience in procurement strategy, contract negotiation, and maximising revenue through effective variation management.
  • Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying.
