Description

We are seeking an experienced Regional EHSQ Manager to join the team. 

You will have the opportunity to develop and support the implementation of best practice EHSQ strategy, programmes and initiatives across the Wellington, Kapiti and Wairarapa region of Higgins.

We are looking for someone to drive a proactive and interdependent safety culture.  

You’ll provide leadership, direction and planning in achieving best practice standards and support the development and maintenance of a safe work environment by promoting our Protect Value – as well as leading and coaching the EHSQ team.

About you:

You’ll have a relevant tertiary qualification in health & safety or relevant discipline with proven experience in health and safety and Quality Management experience. You’ll also bring with you:

  • Strong experience in auditing, monitoring, and reporting to identify risk, areas of improvement and trends over time - with the ability to provide meaningful reporting to guide decision making 
  • Thorough knowledge of work-related illnesses/injuries and can provide competent advice on effective injury management
  • Proven experience in business partnering with senior leadership teams that oversee a large staffing teams by providing professional and timely advice and coaching  
  • Ability to develop solutions to problems and champion a solution focused mindset - clear thinker, able to identify opportunities and align others to a common approach 
  • Demonstrable leadership experience in building a culture of high performing teams, and creating a climate where people want to consistently deliver excellent work 
  • Experience within roading, civil works, construction, transport, logistics, infrastructure would be an advantage - however, this is not essential.
