Description

Fletcher Construction is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Major Projects team based in Auckland.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Estimator to play a key role in securing complex, high-value civil and infrastructure projects. You’ll be part of the team shaping the pricing strategy for some of New Zealand’s most challenging major projects working closely with engineering, construction, planning and commercial specialists from early tender through to final submission.

In this role you will:

Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for large-scale civil infrastructure tenders
Analyse construction methodologies, staging, and programme options to produce competitive and buildable pricing solutions
Manage subcontractor procurement, scopes, and comparisons for major work packages
Work with project managers, planners and engineers to challenge assumptions and optimise delivery methods
Develop pricing models, risk allowances, and commercial strategies for negotiated and competitive tenders
Continually improve costing databases, benchmarking tools and estimating processes
Build strong relationships with consultants, suppliers and joint venture partners

What you’ll bring to the role

Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying (or related discipline)
5+ years experience pricing complex civil works or major infrastructure tenders
Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills
Confidence managing multiple tenders and deadlines in a fast-paced major projects environment
Competence with MS Office and industry estimating tools (Candy preferred)
Clear communication style with the ability to engage suppliers, consultants and internal technical specialists
