The Role: Shift Manager
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a dynamic Shift Manager at our esteemed Dardanup manufacturing site. This role is crucial for overseeing the plant's operations across various shifts, ensuring the seamless integration of safety, production, and quality standards.
 
Work Hours: The Shift Manager role follows a continuous shift roster, working 12-hour shifts (6am-6pm for day shifts and 6pm-6am for night shifts) on a pattern of 2 days on, 2 nights on, followed by 4 days off. This schedule includes weekend work, offering a balanced work-life rhythm.
 
 
As a Shift Manager, you will:
Act as the primary contact between shift employees and other departments, fostering a cohesive working environment.
  • Lead by example, offering inspiring leadership to all shift employees.
  • Guarantee timely and accurate production recording within our manufacturing systems.
  • Make informed decisions regarding plant operations and team issues during shifts.
  • Manage shift crewing arrangements, including coverage for absences.
  • Coordinate response efforts in emergency situations alongside key team members.
  • Uphold and promote our site safety policy, leading incident and hazard investigations.
  • Serve as Acting Site Manager during weekends, public holidays, and alternate shifts.
  • Drive the adoption of 'Lean' manufacturing principles, supporting the team on our journey to Manufacturing Excellence.
  • Maintain compliance with both company and regulatory safety requirements, setting a standard for safe work practices.
 
About You
We are looking for an individual who:
  • Has the ability to manage a diverse team of skilled and semi-skilled workers, achieving high performance levels.
  • Boasts strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Can conduct effective on-the-job training and coaching to enhance team outcomes.
  • Has knowledge and experience in applying Lean Manufacturing tools and processes.
