About The Role
The Manufacturing Accountant role is pivotal in supporting our Plant Managers, Commercial Lead Team, and National Manufacturing Manager by delivering accurate, timely, and insightful reporting that drives informed decision-making. You’ll take ownership of site manufacturing GL, reports, analyses, budgets, forecasts, and product costings, ensuring the integrity of cost and management accounting data. Your expertise will help us understand performance, control costs, and plan for future growth, making you a key partner in the success of our manufacturing operations.

This role offers flexibility to be based in Auckland, Hamilton, or Taupo, with regular travel to our Taupo and Hamilton manufacturing sites. If you’re not Auckland-based, you’ll also travel to Auckland as needed to stay connected with the rest of the Commercial team.

What you’ll do
  • Deliver accurate and timely forecasts and month-end management reports and KPI insights for Plant Managers and operations team.
  • Analyse manufacturing variances and review site performance against budget and cost centre spend.
  • Ensure integrity of product cost data in BPCS and maintain accurate standard costs.
  • Prepare annual manufacturing budgets and ensure compliance with internal controls and statutory requirements.
  • Manage capital expenditure requests, monitor WIP, and maintain the Fixed Asset Register and depreciation schedules.
  • Track and update capex reporting for accurate cashflow forecasting.
  • Drive process improvements and innovate reporting to meet evolving business needs.
  • Collaborate with the wider finance team on ad hoc projects and provide backup support when required.

What we’re looking for
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance, with a CA certification (or currently studying towards a CA certification).
  • 3–5 years’ experience in manufacturing environment with expertise in costing and/or financial accounting.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence across teams.
  • Advanced Excel skills, BPCS knowledge and Power BI experience.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Adaptability and an innovation mindset to support business growth with evolving business requirements,
