Are you ready to make a significant impact on a transformative project? Fletcher Construction is seeking a talented and innovative Foreperson to join our team for Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Te Awa Kairangi).


About the Role

As Foreperson - Civil Earthworks, you'll lead day-to-day site operations on a major infrastructure project in Te Awa Kairangi (Lower Hutt). Working closely with supervisors, engineers, subcontractors and crews, you'll coordinate earthworks activities, maintain high safety and quality standards, and ensure resources are used effectively to keep the programme on track.

  • Coordinate and oversee daily earthworks activities to meet programme requirements
  • Lead site crews and subcontractors, setting clear priorities and work plans
  • Monitor labour, plant and subcontractor performance to achieve production targets
  • Champion health, safety and environmental standards across the worksite
  • Complete quality checks, inspections and documentation to ensure work meets specification
  • Maintain accurate records relating to labour, plant, materials, weather and site activities


What you’ll bring to the role

  • Trade qualification relevant to construction, civil infrastructure, building or a related industry
  • Full NZ Driver Licence
  • At least five years' construction industry experience, including previous foreperson or supervisory responsibility
  • Strong practical earthworks experience with a solid understanding of site-based construction activities
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and coordinate diverse teams and subcontractors
  • Well-developed planning, communication and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail

About Te Awa Kairangi 

Te Awa Kairangi Alliance is delivering transport, walking and cycling improvements to the SH2 Melling interchange and rail station, as part of a wider flood protection and city revitalisation programme.   Fletcher Construction is working with Alliance partners AECOM, NZTA, Taranaki Whānui and Ngāti Toa Rangatira to deliver this transformative project.
