The opportunity
As our new Specification & Design Partnerships Manager, you’ll be based in Auckland and lead the national strategy and execution for interior specification across commercial and residential markets—owning the critical fit out stage where preferences become commitments. You’ll guide a passionate team of design savvy business partners, deepen our engagement with architectural and interior design communities, and grow our share in high value decorative surfaces. 

In this role, you will:
  • Lead the interior specification strategy NZ wide from market segmentation to execution, driving growth above market and elevating Laminex’s perception as the #1 decorative surfaces brand. 
  • Coach and develop a high performing team of specification professionals, setting clear objectives, KPIs, and pipeline discipline to convert early demand into transactions. 
  • Cultivate influential relationships with architects, interior designers, kitchen/bath specialists, and group home builder design teams, keeping Laminex top of mind and first choice in specs. 
  • Manage national partnerships and associations (e.g., NKBA, DINZ, ADNZ, NZIA, RANZ) to extend our profile and advocacy across the interiors landscape. 
  • Champion customer voice—feeding design and market insights into product innovation, commercialisation, and the tools/experiences specifiers rely on. 
  • Represent the brand with creative flair through presentations, proposals and industry events that build excitement and preference for Laminex.
  • Collaborate across Sales, BDM, Marketing, Category and Supply Chain to ensure specifications are fulfilled, pipelines are visible, and projects are closed. 

You’ll thrive here if you:
  • Are a natural networker and relationship builder 
  • Bring 8+ years’ experience across specification, key accounts or business development 
  • Have people leadership experience and love coaching others to be their best. 
  • Possess strong presentation and storytelling skills
  • Know the NZ interiors/specification market and how to translate trends into brand and product preference. 
  • Are comfortable with CRM discipline, pipeline visibility and measurement to “close the loop” from design to installation. 
  • Have a design or business qualification (advantageous)
