Description

Ready to use your systems and people skills to shape a major infrastructure project?
We’re looking for someone curious, collaborative and motivated to help us make a real impact on Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Te Awa Kairangi). If you enjoy problem‑solving, improving the way people work, and supporting teams to get the best out of technology, this role could be a great fit.

About the Role

As our IT Systems Manager you’ll be the connector between people, technology and project delivery. You’ll work alongside field and office teams, helping ensure our tools, data and processes support how we operate every day. This is a varied role with plenty of autonomy and ideal for someone who likes a mix of hands‑on support, process improvement and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Own and manage all project‑specific systems, making sure they run smoothly and meet operational needs
  • Lead configuration, improvements and enhancements (including oversight of system budgets)
  • Simplify and improve business processes using digital tools and automation
  • Support data capture, dashboards and reporting across the project
  • Deliver practical training and onboarding for field and office teams
  • Partner with vendors, IT, engineers and project leaders to embed user‑friendly, fit‑for‑purpose solutions

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Experience managing business systems in a project or operational environment
  • (Construction knowledge is helpful but absolutely not essential)
  • Confidence working with systems such as Procore, Microsoft 365, Power BI or similar tools
  • The ability to analyse workflows, improve processes and spot opportunities for smarter ways of working
  • Strength in communicating with people at all levels from field teams to senior leaders
  • A practical, solutions‑focused mindset and comfort shifting between strategic thinking and hands‑on support
  • Curiosity, adaptability and an interest in helping people adopt new ways of working

If you don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply - we value diverse perspectives and transferable skills.

About Us

We pride ourselves on safely delivering a wide variety of construction and infrastructure projects for the people of New Zealand and the South Pacific. But our power is not in what we do, it’s in who we are. We are a team of 3,700 people working under three brands: Fletcher Construction, Higgins, and Brian Perry Civil. We may be a big team, but we haven’t lost sight of what really matters: looking after our people.

We recognise that treating our people well is only partially about what happens during work hours. It’s also about the impact we have outside of work hours too. That’s why we have incredible learning and development opportunities for staff and their families, industry-leading parental leave, support systems and generous corporate discounts.
