About the Role

As a Project Engineer – Water, you’ll play a key role in the planning, coordination and delivery of complex water and wastewater construction projects. Working closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Supervisors and subcontractors, you’ll take ownership of your work packages and be supported to deliver them safely, efficiently and to the high standards Brian Perry Civil is known for.
You’ll be involved from pre‑tender planning through to commissioning and handover, ensuring work is well planned, suitably resourced and delivered in line with programme, contract and budget requirements. This role offers genuine exposure to technically interesting water infrastructure works and the chance to build a strong delivery track record.

  • Plan, programme and coordinate water and wastewater construction activities, including short and long‑term lookahead planning
  • Manage technical, quality, environmental and safety aspects of assigned work packages
  • Contribute to pre‑tender planning, methodology development and construction sequencing
  • Work closely with Supervisors and subcontractors to keep work progressing safely and efficiently
  • Manage cost control, forecasting, productivity tracking and reporting for your scope of works
  • Develop, review and close out work packs, ITPs, method statements and handover documentation
  • Support commissioning of water or wastewater assets, including interfaces with mechanical and electrical components
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal delivery teams

What You’ll Bring

  • Engineering qualification (civil or related discipline) – essential
  • 7+ years’ experience in civil construction, with demonstrated experience in water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Contractor-side experience delivering complex or multi-stage works
  • Solid understanding of working around existing assets, live services and operational environments
  • Practical knowledge of civil construction methods, including pipelines, structures and associated works
  • Strong planning, organisation and problem‑solving skills
  • Confidence using project documentation systems, reporting tools and digital platforms
  • A collaborative, calm and professional approach when working under pressure
  • A strong personal commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental performance
