Description

Enjoy working with CAD, GPS and survey data, and want to see your work come to life on site?
This role is a great step for surveyors, survey technicians or engineers who want to move closer to construction delivery.

As a Utilities Site Engineer, you will help plan and deliver utility works on Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi (Te Awa Kairangi).

About the Role

As a Utilities Site Engineer, you’ll help plan and deliver utility works on the Te Awa Kairangi project. You’ll play a key role in turning digital designs into practical construction outcomes, working closely with site teams and designers.

  • Plan and coordinate day-to-day site activities for utilities and services work
  • Prepare and implement work packs for construction teams
  • Interpret drawings, survey data and service layouts into clear instructions
  • Support construction sequencing, access and methodology planning
  • Use GPS, survey data and CAD outputs to guide site delivery and capture as-builts
  • Maintain accurate records including site diaries, quantities and red-line markups
  • Work with design and delivery teams to resolve issues on site

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Background in surveying, survey technology, engineering or similar
  • Experience with GPS, total station, or digital field tools
  • Confidence working with CAD drawings and as-built information
  • Understanding of construction, utilities, drainage or services (or a strong interest to learn)
  • Ability to translate plans into practical, on-site solutions
  • Organised, practical and comfortable working in a live site environment

About Us

We pride ourselves on safely delivering a wide variety of construction and infrastructure projects for the people of New Zealand and the South Pacific. But our power is not in what we do, it’s in who we are. We are a team of 3,700 people working under three brands: Fletcher Construction, Higgins, and Brian Perry Civil. We may be a big team, but we haven’t lost sight of what really matters: looking after our people.

We recognise that treating our people well is only partially about what happens during work hours. It’s also about the impact we have outside of work hours too. That’s why we have incredible learning and development opportunities for staff and their families, support systems and generous corporate discounts.
