The Role
We are looking for a Despatch Team Leader to join our distribution team in Tauriko on our nightshift (9pm – 5am, Sunday to Thursday). Reporting to the Distribution Manager you will be responsible for co-ordinating and overseeing despatch operations, ensuring efficient and accurate workflows.
The night shift operates with a high level of autonomy and is primarily warehouse-focused. You will lead a small team concentrating on stock transfers, re-racking, replenishments and preparing the warehouse for the incoming day shift, playing a critical role in setting up safe, efficient operations. Recognising that all incidents are preventable, you will assist in behavioural safety leadership through active participation with the team to achieve and sustain Zero Harm.

About You
We’re seeking a leader with a hands-on approach willing to work alongside the team as well as manage day-to-day workload. You’ll be a responsive team player with strong communication skills, a good sense of humour and a genuine passion for their work. You’ll bring;
  • At least 5 year’s forklift experience in a large distribution environment, coupled with demonstrated leadership capability in driving customer-centric distribution and transport processes.
  • Experience supervising team members and providing clear direction, guidance and on the job training.
  • Sound warehouse experience, including planning and loading skills, particularly in relation to high-risk product.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain solid working relationships.
  • A strong safety leadership mindset, with excellent attention to detail and organisation skills.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management software and good computer skills.
  • A current forklift license with experience operating in a manufacturing or industrial environment essential.
