This is a practical, site‑based role suited to someone who is confident on construction projects and comfortable building trust at all levels.

  • Provide day‑to‑day health and safety support across assigned work areas
  • Partner with site leaders to plan safe work and manage critical risks
  • Complete site inspections, risk reviews, and safety observations
  • Support incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Coach teams on safety systems, procedures, and expectations
  • Contribute to reporting, assurance activities, and continuous improvement

What you’ll bring to the role

  • A tertiary qualification in health and safety or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in a health and safety role within construction or infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation
  • Confidence engaging with site teams, supervisors, and senior leaders
  • Practical problem‑solving skills and sound judgement
  • Clear communication skills and a calm, respectful approach

About Eastern Busway Alliance (EBA)

EBA includes Auckland Transport, Fletcher Construction, ACCIONA, AECOM, and Jacobs. We’re working on a major project for Auckland, adding dedicated lanes for high-frequency bus services that link Botany, Pakuranga, and nearby suburbs with the Panmure rail network. The project features cycling and walking paths, safety upgrades, environmental enhancements, roading improvements, and a Reeves Road flyover, offering more travel options and more reliable journey times.

About Us

We pride ourselves on safely delivering a wide variety of construction and infrastructure projects for the people of New Zealand and the South Pacific. But our power is not in what we do, it’s in who we are. We are a team of 3,700 people working under three brands: Fletcher Construction, Higgins, and Brian Perry Civil. We may be a big team, but we haven’t lost sight of what really matters: looking after our people.

We recognise that treating our people well is only partially about what happens during work hours. It’s also about the impact we have outside of work hours too. That’s why we have incredible learning and development opportunities for staff and their families, support systems and generous corporate discounts.
