The Purpose of the Role 


As a Masonry Quality Technician, you will support the National Quality Manager and Hunua Operations team by: 
  • Ensuring all products and raw materials are tested to relevant standards 
  • Maintaining accurate test records and escalating issues promptly 
  • Managing and improving testing facilities 
  • Contributing to troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement across our Quality Management processes 
Your work directly ensures that our products meet customer specifications, are fit for purpose, and uphold Firth’s reputation for excellence. 



What You’ll Bring 


We’re looking for someone who sets high standards, shows initiative, and brings professionalism and drive to their work. 

Ideally, you will have: 
  • A background in manufacturing and quality 
  • 3–5 years’ experience in testing and Quality Management 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to make the tough calls 
  • Good computer skills and physical fitness 
  • Flexibility to work additional hours when required 
A methodical approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow written procedures and produce clear reports will be key to your success. 



Firth is a leading supplier of ready mixed concrete, masonry products and premix to the construction industry either directly or through building product distributors. With a team of approx. 700 people, working in 80 sites throughout New Zealand. It's divided into three product groups, Certified, Masonry and Dricon.
