About the Role

Based in Napier, this Senior Quantity Surveyor role is focused on leading the commercial delivery of a portfolio of civil projects, each valued around $30M. You will take full ownership of contracts while guiding a small team and working closely with a Contracts Manager to keep projects performing as planned.

  • Lead the commercial management of multiple civil projects from procurement through to final account
  • Manage and mentor two intermediate Quantity Surveyors, supporting their development and output
  • Oversee project budgets, forecasting and financial reporting across the portfolio
  • Administer head contracts and subcontract agreements to protect project outcomes
  • Manage variations, claims and negotiations with clients and delivery teams
  • Identify and manage commercial risk to maintain strong project performance

What You’ll Bring

  • Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • Strong experience in civil infrastructure projects
  • Proven track record leading teams, including direct reports
  • Ability to independently manage large scale projects or portfolios
  • Deep understanding of contract administration, claims and commercial risk
  • Confident communicator who can work across site teams, clients and leadership
  • A practical, collaborative approach that supports both delivery and team success
