Firth brings together a team of around 600 people and proudly partners with over 2,500 customers nationwide, working collaboratively to build stronger communities.

Plant Manager is a hands-on leadership role where you will guide a small, close-knit team while supporting day-to-day plant operations.

You’ll play an important part in balancing operational excellence with customer care, helping your team deliver consistently high-quality outcomes.

We’re looking for a people-focused leader who values collaboration, brings a thoughtful approach to decision-making, and creates an environment where others feel supported to grow and succeed.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Nurturing a safe, supportive team culture with strong health and safety focus
  • Coordinating plant operations, including batching, logistics, and delivery to meet customer needs
  • Partnering with customers and internal teams to ensure a seamless, positive experience
  • Monitoring performance and continuously improving plant processes and outcomes
  • Supporting quality assurance and compliance with NZ standards
  • Providing hands-on support across production and operations when needed
  • Developing team capability through coaching, training, and clear communication
  • Maintaining accurate operational and production records
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience leading or supporting a team in an operational or industrial environment
  • A background in production, logistics, or construction-related industries
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, inclusive leadership style
  • Confidence in balancing people, safety, and performance priorities
  • Sound planning, organisation, and problem-solving ability
  • A calm, thoughtful approach to decision-making and continuous improvement
  • A genuine commitment to quality, safety, and customer care
Why Firth?
  • Be part of a supportive, values-led organisation within Fletcher Building
  • Work in a close-knit team where your leadership makes a visible difference
  • Opportunities to grow your capability and develop your career
  • A culture grounded in care, curiosity, and working better together
  • Stability and scale of a well-established New Zealand business
At Firth, how we work together matters. We:
  • Care for each other and put safety first
  • Stay curious and open to better ways of working
  • Put ourselves in our customers’ shoes
  • Collaborate, learn, and succeed together

We are proud of your diversity and see it as one of the things that make us stronger. We welcome your individuality and encourage you to bring your true self to work, so if this role is of interest but you feel you don’t fit it, we would still love you to apply.
