Description

ColorCote, a division of Fletcher Building, has been leading New Zealand’s innovation of pre-painted steel and aluminium roofing and cladding products in NZ since 1973. 


We are on the look out for a Mechanical Fitter to join our team based in Penrose, Auckland. Working Monday through to Friday with on call duties 24/7 on a weekly rotating roster. This is for an afternoon shift 2pm-10:30pm (40hrs per week).The mechanical fitter is responsible for maintaining, and repairing plant and equipment in response to breakdowns and the Preventative Maintenance schedule

For this role you must have:
  • A working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems with an ability to read schematic drawings
  • Ability to conduct light fabrication work 
  • Experienced in use of lathes, milling machine, drill presses
  • 5+ years’ experience in heavy industrial maintenance environments, in a production environment at a relatively influential operational level, or within related plant environments like cement, steel, plastics, dairy, pulp, and paper
  • Ability to prioritise work and factor commercial and health & safety requirements into maintenance plans.
  • Assess and reduce hazards in the work place and complete hazard forms as required
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to confidently collaborate, co-operate and share information around faults, issues and actions required with key plant stakeholders.
  • Basic computer skills - Emials, MS Office
  • Take active responsibility and lead by example in Health & Safety guidelines and procedures.
  • An ability to work autonomously and independently.
  • Ability to undertake limited electrical work will be an advantage, preference will be given to Dual -Trade qualified candidates
You will have a NZ recognised mechanical trade certificate and manufacturing plant experience, a clean drivers licence and be able to either obtain or retain a fork lift “ F” endorsement.
