About Us
GIB® Plasterboard is a household name in New Zealand construction, and a part of Fletcher Building. For almost 100 years, we’ve been helping build healthier, more sustainable homes with two manufacturing plants in Tauranga and Christchurch and distribution facilities across the country. We are currently looking for reliable, practical and safety-conscious Production Operators to join our manufacturing team in the Board Plant at our Tauriko plant -a high-volume, safety-led manufacturing environment where teamwork and reliability matter.
 
About the Role
We are looking for a Despatch Operator to join our Distribution Team in Hillsborough, Christchurch, based on a shift roster, rotating fortnightly (2 weeks morning, 2 weeks afternoon), up to a total of 50 hours per week between the hours of 6am and 10pm.  You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient distribution of our high-quality products to our valued customers. In this role you will work as part of a team to provide an efficient and accurate warehouse service including unloading trucks, loading trucks, and picking orders in accordance with customer requirements while maintaining In Full, On Time and In Spec (I.F.O.T.I.S).
 
About You
We’re looking for a team member who is responsive to the needs of the team, has excellent communication skills and who has a positive attitude and passion for what they do to fit in with our current team. You will have extensive experience on a fork hoist in a warehousing environment with planning and loading skills. Also required:
  • Attention to detail, good organisation skills and can plan ahead
  • A sound working knowledge of the loading/ unloading principles of high-risk product
  • Safety focused, has initiative and self-motivation with strong teamwork skills 
  • A current forklift license
  • Ability to work shift hours (2 weeks of mornings, 2 weeks of afternoons) and undergo a medical test
