About Stramit

Stramit is a leading Australian manufacturer of steel building products, servicing the residential, commercial and industrial sectors. With a long-standing reputation for quality, innovation and customer service, Stramit combines local manufacturing capability with the backing of a broader national network—giving our people the opportunity to make a real impact while being supported by an established and respected business.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded Branch Manager to lead our Queanbeyan branch.

This is a key leadership role for someone who enjoys running a business within a business—taking ownership of branch performance across sales, operations, customer service and team leadership. It will suit a capable and hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-moving environment and brings the right balance of commercial acumen, operational discipline and entrepreneurial thinking.

This role is intentionally market-facing, with an expectation that you will spend the bulk of your time in the market, building customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities and driving sales performance. The remaining time will focus on leading branch operations, overseeing manufacturing, supporting your team and ensuring the branch continues to deliver safely, efficiently and profitably.

With customer service and operational team members reporting into this role, you will be responsible for creating a high-performing branch culture that is responsive, accountable and closely connected to customer needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the overall performance of the Queanbeyan branch across sales, operations and customer outcomes
  • Drive business growth through strong market engagement, relationship management and a visible customer presence
  • Manage the branch with an ownership mindset, balancing commercial priorities with operational effectiveness
  • Oversee onsite manufacturing activities to ensure quality, service, efficiency and reliability
  • Lead customer service and operational teams to deliver a seamless customer experience
  • Build a nimble, responsive branch culture that can adapt quickly to shifting priorities and customer demands
  • Apply strong production planning and workflow discipline, including experience in just-in-time manufacturing environments
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, performance and continuous improvement
  • Bring technical understanding to support both internal teams and customer conversations

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a leader who can step into a broad business role and confidently lead both the commercial and operational success of the branch.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in a Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Sales Manager or similar senior leadership role within a manufacturing environment
  • A proven ability to lead a branch, site or business unit with meaningful operational and commercial accountability
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Strong commercial capability, including customer engagement, sales growth and market development
  • Sound operational leadership experience, ideally across manufacturing, service delivery and team performance
  • Experience working in a just-in-time manufacturing or fast-paced production environment
  • A practical, credible technical understanding of manufacturing processes, products or industrial operations
  • The agility to be hands-on, adaptable and responsive in a dynamic branch setting
  • Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to lead teams across customer service and operations

Why join Stramit?

This is an opportunity to lead a significant regional operation with real scope, autonomy and visibility. You’ll have the backing of a trusted national business, while still having the freedom to influence local performance, strengthen customer relationships and lead your branch like your own business.

You’ll be joining a business that values:

  • Strong local leadership
  • Customer focus and commercial initiative
  • Operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Safety, teamwork and accountability

If you’re a commercially savvy and operationally capable leader who enjoys being close to the market, leading from the front and making an impact, we’d love to hear from you.
