Description

At Firth, we’ve been shaping New Zealand’s built environment for over 90 years. As part of the Fletcher Building group, Firth brings together a nationwide network of over 700 people across 80 sites, supporting communities with ready-mix concrete, masonry, and premix solutions. Known for quality, care, and longstanding customer partnerships, Firth plays a vital role across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

We’re looking for a thoughtful and collaborative leader to guide our Waikato operations—someone who builds strong relationships, nurtures capable teams, and brings a balanced approach to performance, safety, and growth.

What you’ll be part of

  • A supportive, values-led culture focused on safety, respect, and continuous improvement
  • A business that encourages inclusive leadership and team development
  • Opportunities to shape regional performance while contributing to national outcomes
  • A team that values connection, communication, and shared success

Key responsibilities

  • Guide and support the Waikato operations and sales function to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes
  • Foster a positive, engaged team culture where people feel supported to grow and contribute
  • Build trusted relationships with customers and internal partners to strengthen service delivery
  • Oversee regional performance, including financial outcomes, forecasting, and operational planning
  • Encourage continuous improvement across safety, environmental, and operational practices
  • Lead with clarity—ensuring goals, expectations, and priorities are understood and aligned
  • Support capability development through coaching, feedback, and thoughtful succession planning

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in operations, manufacturing, or distribution environments
  • Confidence in managing budgets and contributing to financial performance (P&L exposure)
  • A people-first leadership style, with a focus on communication, empathy, and development
  • Strong relationship-building skills across customers, teams, and stakeholders
  • Sound judgement and the ability to balance commercial outcomes with team wellbeing
  • Comfort working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm, solutions-focused approach

Benefits and support

  • Competitive salary package with performance incentives
  • Access to Fletcher Building employee benefits and development pathways
  • Ongoing leadership development and training opportunities
  • A workplace that prioritises safety, wellbeing, and flexibility
  • The chance to make a meaningful impact in your region and industry
If you’re motivated by creating environments where people and performance thrive together, we’d love to hear from you.

Research shows that females and minority groups don’t apply for roles unless they match 100% the job description.

We are proud of your diversity and see it as one of the things that make us stronger. We welcome your individuality and encourage you to bring your true self to work, so if this role is of interest but you feel you don’t fit it, we would still love you to apply.
