Description

At Firth, we’re looking for a thoughtful and organised Certified Laboratory Supervisor to support our Auckland and Waikato operations. You’ll play a key role in coordinating technicians, creating clarity in planning, and ensuring consistent, high-quality testing outcomes—while fostering a supportive and collaborative team environment.

About us
Firth is a leading New Zealand concrete supplier and part of the Fletcher Building group. With a long-standing presence in the market, we’re proud to support major infrastructure, commercial, and residential projects across the country. We’re committed to safety, sustainability, and doing the right thing—working together to build better, every day.

Key responsibilities
  • Coordinate and schedule testing activities in line with NZS 3104 standards
  • Support and guide technicians to ensure balanced workloads and clear communication
  • Build strong working relationships with operations, engineers, and customers
  • Ensure test results are accurate, captured, and reported within required timeframes
  • Oversee equipment calibration, servicing, and compliance requirements
  • Champion a safe, inclusive, and environmentally responsible culture
  • Support the development and growth of technicians across the region

About you
You’re someone who enjoys bringing structure to a busy environment and supporting others to succeed. You build trust through clear communication, fairness, and consistency.

You will bring:
  • Experience in concrete testing (ideally 5+ years)
  • Strong understanding of relevant NZ testing standards
  • Confidence in planning, scheduling, and coordinating work across teams
  • A collaborative, people-focused approach
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes
  • Good systems and computer literacy
  • NZQA or BCITO qualifications in concrete testing or production are advantageous.

What we offer
  • A supportive, inclusive team culture where your contribution matters
  • Opportunities to grow your leadership capability and develop others
  • A strong focus on health, safety, and wellbeing
  • Career pathways across the Fletcher Building group
  • The chance to contribute to meaningful projects across Auckland and Waikato

Apply now
If you’re looking for a role where you can make a real difference—supporting people, strengthening systems, and contributing to quality outcomes—we’d love to hear from you.

Research shows that females and minority groups don’t apply for roles unless they match 100% the job description.

We are proud of your diversity and see it as one of the things that make us stronger. We welcome your individuality and encourage you to bring your true self to work, so if this role is of interest but you feel you don’t fit it, we would still love you to apply.
